- The Spring Series is a best 5 out of 7 event. If any races are abandoned or otherwise not sailed, the series will be 4 out of 6, 3 out of 5, 3 out of 4, or 2 of 3. Beyond that the remaining 2 races will be scored and awards issued as individual races. There will be a social gathering, "Fleet Night", following each race in the picnic area adjacent to "I" dock (next to the Tower).
- The Summer Series is a best 6 out of 8 event. If any races are abandoned or otherwise not sailed, the series will be 5 out of 7, 4 out of 6, 3 out of 5, 3 out of 4, or 2 of 3. Beyond that the remaining 2 races will be scored and awards issued as individual races. There will be a social gathering, "Fleet Night", following each race in the picnic area adjacent to "I" dock (next to the Tower).
- For the Ladies Day race, a female must start and finish the race as well as helm at least 50% of the time. This is a one-day, one-race, Non-Spinnaker event. Will be taking place in conjunction with PJYC on PJYC course.
- For Fall Series races see course, starting times, and other information in "Section VIII Jackrabbit Race" in the sailing instructions. This series is a best 4 out of 6 event. If any single race is abandoned or otherwise not sailed, the series will be 3 out of 5, then 3 out of 4. Beyond that the remaining 2 races will be scored and awards issued as individual races.
- Courses for the Barrister Cup race should be designated for all divisions as follows:

- Only one person is allowed on the boat with no restrictions. Self-steering and spinnakers are permitted. Spinnaker and non-spinnaker are combined and scored together.
- This will be the 30th annual long distance race. Although this is a Self Start there will be a race officer on one of the boats who will be responsible for choosing the course. The course will be announced on Channel 68.
- Suggested courses for the Middle Ground Night Race are as follows. Any other course used must include "F" mark and only lighted marks.

Boats will use the self-start procedure described in Note 12. Your finish time will be determined when a crew member is standing on the beach at the foot of the east jetty at the entrance to Flax Pond. If your crew member goes in for the finish by dinghy, s/he must not use a motor. Record your own time, announce your time on VHF 68 and report your time to our club scorer (email preferred) within 72 hours.
- These races will begin with a "Self Start".
- For the Middle Ground Night Race (Course "A") - boats will be positioned such that they are EAST of club mark "Y" and are behind an imaginary line 0 degrees magnetic that intersects club mark "Y".
- For the Middle Ground Night Race (Course "B", "C") - boats will be positioned such that they are NORTH of club mark "Y" and are behind an imaginary line 90 degrees magnetic that intersects club mark "Y".
- For the Middle Ground Night Race (Course "D") - boats will be positioned such that they are NORTH of club mark "Y" and are behind an imaginary line 270 degrees magnetic that intersects club mark "Y".
- For Fall Jackrabbit Series (Course "A", "E") - boats will be positioned such that they are WEST of club mark "A" and are behind an imaginary line 180 degrees magnetic that intersects club mark "A".
- For Fall Jackrabbit Series (Course "B", "C", "D", "F") - boats will be positioned such that they are EAST of club mark "A" and are behind an imaginary line 180 degrees magnetic that intersects club mark "A".
- For Mattituck Race/Cruise - boats will be positioned such that they are WEST of club mark "A" and are behind an imaginary line 180 degrees magnetic that intersects club mark "A".
- For Flax Pond - boats will be positioned such that they are EAST of club mark "A" and are behind an imaginary line 180 degrees magnetic that intersects club mark "A".
- For the Long Distance Race - boats will be positioned such that they are EAST or WEST of club mark "A" and are behind an imaginary line 180 degrees magnetic that intersects club mark "A", whichever side is on the opposite side from the first mark.
- Only two people are allowed on the boat. Self-steering and spinnakers are permitted. This series is a best 6 out of 8 event. If any races are abandoned or otherwise not sailed, the series will be 5 out of 7, 4 out of 6, 3 out of 5, 3 out of 4, or 2 of 3. Beyond that the remaining two races will be scored and awards issued as individual races. This series is not part of the High Point award. You must declare at your first race of this series that you are spinnaker or non-spinnaker. After that, for this series, you can not change. You do not need to display the "C" flag.
- Father's Day Race - This is an unrestricted race, so spinnakers are permitted.
- This race also counts for the MSSA/PJYC 4-race series. Non MSSA boats will not be included in the regular season series. 3 of the 4 races count for the MSSA-PJYC Friendship Series.
- See the PJYC Sailing Instructions for starting procedures, course marks, finish, etc. Contact the Vice Commodore for a copy, or look on the PJYC website.
- Pro/Am Race - An amateur must start and finish the race on his/her boat as well as helm at least 50% of the time. Definitions used are as follows:
- Amateur: Someone who has not won a race, trophy, or series; persons who may regularly crew, but not helm a racing yacht.
- Pro: Someone who can help you get better at racing and sailing in general.
- This is a High Point Race. Awards will be as specified in Section IV, Trophies. Additionally they will also be scored by division for the purpose of the High Point only.
- This race will be scored Spinnaker and non-spinnaker with no divisions.
